HPCQS Receives Second 100+ Qubit Quantum Processor Unit From Pasqal

Only in June, HPCQS partners GENCI and CEA at the TGCC Supercomputing Centre received the first quantum processor from Pasqal for connection to the Joliot-Curie supercomputer.

In mid-November, the second quantum processor from the French world leader in neutral atoms quantum computing was delivered to the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) at Forschungszentrum Jülich. The machine will be installed as part of the Jülich UNified Infrastructure for Quantum computing (JUNIQ) and connected to the JURECA DC supercomputer over the next few months.

With the delivery and installation of the two Orion processors from Pasqal as part of HPCQS, the core of the project will be finalised within the next 12 months: a European federated hybrid HPC-QS infrastructure that will provide non-commercial cloud access to public and private European users.
